Jonahs Arrogants

  This morning for devotions we were studying the bible; the book of Jonah. We were looking at Jonah's reaction to God's forgiveness and what attitudes did Jonah have that stopped him from
accepting God forgiving the Ninevites.

 WALT uses to study the bible to gain an understanding that we all need  God's help, mercy, and love, and we are all called to forgive others.

 

The Bible records many stories about "forgiving". The Lord Jesus also taught us this: when we forgive men when they sin against us, our heavenly father will also forgive us. However, it's hard to forgive from our hearts. With God’s help, you can forgive. 

 

Your assignment is to research "forgiving", in the bible and share what you learned. You will need to use reference material such as biblegateway.com or search engines to locate stories of forgiveness in the Bible.

 

Begin by brainstorming possible topics and bible references

 

Create your own framework to record bible references you will read, key events within it, and your thoughts. In week 8 you will use this to write what you learned from the bible about forgiveness.

Knowledge of Text Features; River Knowledge

 Our topic is water and science. We have been learning to use different text features like sub-heading, titles, etc. Using these will help me find the right place and key ideas. My task was to skim-read three different stories. LAWA website, Talking To The River and Testing the Water are the sites we had to read. we had to choose which site fits the questions. 

Something I was good at was finding key ideas.

Also, doing research on what scientists do to help the environment/Rivers.

 This term I did a quiz to test your knowledge of Figurative language. Our task was to make a quiz with a partner (I was an independent person).  We had to add different types of figures of speech like Metaphor, Idiom, and more.

 
The main object of learning for S2 is to add figurative language to our writing that is why we have done a quiz to test our knowledge. We have been also been doing show not tell.

Some things I enjoyed doing are: thinking of some question/statement for you to do and changing/choosing the background (I do not have much on mine)

The Meaning Of the Water Cycle

 In class, in term 2 we have been learning about rivers and the source of things. We have also been doing learning objects about the water cycle. In this blog post, I had to do a google draw and write the meaning about each aspect of the water cycle exp: Evaporation, Transpiration, and many more. 

One of our main learning focus about the water cycle is; to find out where our water comes from. [Just in case we drink cow pee or something grose]

 In class, we read a book, called Thirst. Our task was to make up our own ending to the unfinished story.
I think I have done the following well: Figurative language, show not tell, and sentence structures
What I enjoyed: I really enjoyed writing the ending because I can add different types of feelings and exciting parts.

Here is what I could write, hope you enjoy:

 THRIST 

 Dad's voice was thundering through the trees. One more time.  “Ryder! Ryder!’’ exclaimed Dad, “where are you?” There was no luck.

  Ryder heard him. What shall he do? Ryder continued to run at leopard speed on the crunching leaves. Just for the night. The sun was gone, leaving a blanket of darkness. He stopped. Not knowing what he was doing. “What am I doing?” he whispered. Then he began again. The more he ran, the more guilt flowed. Ryder's heart longed to turn back, but his legs continued moving.

 Dad continued to run. Ryder. Ryder's name keeps flooding through dad's mind. Ryder. Once more he yelled, “Ryder! Where are you?!”  Dad continued non-stop. Empathy, anxiousness, sympathy- will Dad ever forgive his beloved son?

Ryder found himself standing in the darkness. Lowering himself onto the dry, brown dirt. “Father please forgive His head lifted. “Ryder? Is that you,” a quivering voice said. Who is it? Ryder slowly turned his head. Crying in front of him was his sister. Brooke?  “Ryder we must go!” Brooke said quietly. “Why are you here!!” shouted Ryder, “how did you know I was here??” Brooks' eyes filled with water like a flood. Tears started to drip down Brooke's face. Love flooded Brooke's heart. Ryder's eyes filled with water. He tried to hold back the tears and then. He blinked…

“Ryder!!!!” shouted dad, “if you don't come back I'm leaving!” Dad spins around like a Ferris Wheel. Dad started to turn back, but he heard a voice in the distance. Ryder! Is that you?  “Dad, I found Ryder!!” shouted Brooke in the distance. Brooke?  

Brooke ran towards the sound of dad's voice. When she ran she saw the clouds turning black. Rain?  Wondered Brooke. She turned to tell Ryder, yet she found Ryder sitting down by the dead trees crying. Tears were dripping down his face like a waterfall. “Ryder, we have to go!” shouted Brooke, “ it's going to rain!” 

Dad heard Brooke say it was going to rain. His eyes widened. Rain? Rain? Dad started running to Brooke's voice. The moon had its last smile down at Brooke, Ryder, and Dad. Dad ran at full speed.

Brooke helped Ryder up and held his hand. “Let's go home now,” smiled Brooke. The more Ryder cried, the more rain came. 

Dad saw dots in the distance. The rain was like lollies falling from the sky, stinging the blisters and scabs on Dad's body. Boom! Lighten falling down. Ryder and Dad were face to face. “Father, father” Ryder wept. Ryder and dad walked home together.
